WHAT’S BEHIND THE NAME PEN & BRICK?
Pen & Brick reflects the two strands at the heart of Raymond Girard’s creative DNA.
PEN speaks to his passion for sketching, drawing, storytelling, and the articulation of ideas through sketches, writing, and the shaping of narrative.
BRICK refers to Raymond’s obsession with the built environment: architecture, structure, infrastructure, material, and the act of making: whether through construction, spatial design, or the simple act of stacking and building.
Together, PEN & BRICK describes a practice grounded equally in thinking and making, story and structure, concept and construction.
